Meet Melissa Dean-Appasu
Board Certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner
Melissa R. Dean-Appasu has 22 years experience caring for patients from birth to 100 years of age. She received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University Purdue University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Informatics with a cognate in Data Analysis and Chemi- Informatics, later to receive her second Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana State University. She advanced her education by receiving her Master’s of Science in Advance Nursing Practice from Indiana State University. She has worked in multiple practice settings including primary care, inpatient and outpatient mental health and urgent care for the past ten years. She is Board Certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Mrs. Dean-Appasu has a broad range of experience from working in medical research, data analysis to cardiovascular health and now primary care. She has worked on the continent of Africa in countries like Ghana, West Africa, Tanzania, East Africa and soon Zambia providing skilled training in first aid and CPR. Before co-founding Compassion Virtual Health Care with her husband Mr. Bryte Appasu, she provided primary care in the family practice setting and psychiatric care to inpatients suffering from mental illness.
She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the library, international travel and home gardening.

An initial urgent care visit with a provider involves a medical history review, physical examination, and possibly diagnostic tests to evaluate a patient's health, identify issues, and develop a treatment plan. Treatments visits such as Covid and Flu, Respiratory Infections, Sinus Infections, Sore Throats, Pink Eye Infection, Stye, Ear Problems, Rashes, Nausea/Vomiting/Diarrhea, Fungal Infections, Insect Bites, Doctor Notes/School Notes, Back Pain, Gout, Allergies, Asthma, Constipation.
