Compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Specialized in Oncology, Sickle Cell, and PTSD Clients

As an Advanced Practice Nurse at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, I provide expert, holistic care to oncology and sickle cell patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. I manage complex medical and psychiatric needs, including SUD/OUD treatment with buprenorphine and Suboxone, and lead WRAP-around planning for high-utilizer patients. I’m passionate about advocating for underserved populations, improving care delivery, and coordinating multidisciplinary support.

I’ve helped onboard staff, led education initiatives in sickle cell best practices, co-developed system order sets, and support cutting-edge research—including gene-editing therapies and SCD trials. My approach blends clinical precision with empathy, empowering patients through every stage of illness. From acute care consults to regional infusion coverage, I bring resilience, innovation, and deep commitment to my work every day.

Advanced Practice Nurse- Nurse Practitioner

As a Clinical Nurse in the Adult Emergency and Rapid Care unit, I thrived in a high-pressure environment, managing critical patients with a wide range of emergencies—from trauma and cardiac events to OB crises, overdose, and sepsis. I regularly stabilized ICU-bound patients, managing ventilators, drips, and invasive lines. I excelled in triage, rapid assessment, and prioritizing care under extreme time constraints.

My role extended beyond bedside care—I served as a mentor to new nurses, contributed to a cohesive team culture, and was a trusted resource for oncology and palliative patients. I consistently took on leadership responsibilities, supporting less experienced staff and guiding through high-acuity scenarios. This role strengthened my clinical confidence, crisis management, and commitment to compassionate, team-based care in moments when patients and families needed it most.

Clinical Nurse

In Surgical & Women’s Oncology and Seidman Float, I delivered expert care to acutely and critically ill patients, including those recovering from complex surgeries, managing acute on chronic pain, or approaching end of life. I handled a wide range of interventions—TPN, wound vacs, pleural and chest drains, ostomies, and chemo administration in line with ONS standards. I educated patients and families on complex care plans, often serving as a primary preceptor for new nurses.

I regularly stepped into charge nurse and float roles, supporting multiple units and mentoring new staff. I participated in collaborative rounds, shared governance, and led initiatives like our unit relocation task force. Recognized for compassionate, skilled care in patient surveys and leadership rounds, I consistently advocated for patients while collaborating across disciplines to ensure holistic, high-quality care.

A follow-up visit with a provider involves checking the progress of the patient's treatment plan, assessing any new symptoms or managing side-effects of the treatment plan.
