Psychometrician | Predoctoral Intern

Provided intensive wrap around community-based services to patients with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) and are high risk for use of hospitalization or crisis services, self-harm, harm to others, co-existing substance abuse, high risk for criminal justice involvement, chronically homeless, or inability to participate in traditional clinic based services. ACT is the most intensive community-based program offered by Advantage. ACT team includes a psychiatrist, two licensed professional counselors, a nurse, a Certified Peer Specialist, a Vocational Specialist, a Certified Addictions Counselor, and paraprofessional staff. ACT provides both individual counseling, DBT, and addiction specific groups to its patients.

Masters-Level Professional Counselor | Clinical Assessor

Provided individual psychotherapy and community-based therapeutic services for emerging adults (ages 16-25) experiencing first episode of a psychosis-based diagnosis. 

EPIC is a team-based approach, operating 24/7, where clinicians provide individual, group, and family counseling services. Certified peer specialists, including CPS-P (parent CPS) and CPS-Y (Youth CPS) are available to assist clients and parents. The EPIC program includes utilization of an education specialist to address education and employment needs, psychiatric and nursing services, and interagency service coordination with schools, employment agencies, and assist to link client and families with other community programs and additional Advantage services as needed.

Masters-Level Professional Counselor | Early Psychosis Intervention Collaborative (EPIC) 

Provided office-based individual counseling for adults in Walton County and community-based psychosocial rehabilitation services for adults in the Walton County and Jackson County Mental Health Clinics. 

Facilitated a therapeutic group for a adults who struggle with depression in the Walton County Mental Health Clinic.

Masters-Level Professional Counselor | Outpatient Clinics

Provided community-based therapeutic interventions and intensive case management services for adults engaged in the Advantage Greene County Mental Health Clinic.

Co-facilitated Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®) Toolbox therapeutic group for adults. WRAP® is a manualized group intervention for symptom and illness management that is delivered in a self-help group context. WRAP guides participants through the process of identifying and understanding their personal wellness resources (“wellness tools”) and then helps them develop an individualized plan to use these resources on a daily basis to manage their mental illness (www.wellnessrecoveryactionplan.com, 2024).

Masters-Level Professional Counselor | Intensive Case Management Program

Provided community-based individual counseling to ACT patients in Baldwin and Bibb Counties.

Facilitated a therapeutic group for adults with co-occurring disorders. A co-occurring disorder, also known as a comorbid disorder or dual diagnosis, is when someone has more than one condition or illness at the same time. This can include a mental illness and a substance use disorder (SUD) or co-occurring mental disorders or physical conditions.

Provide supervision and role modeling to group home residents. 

Founded in 1991, Generations is committed to the prevention of sexual abuse by providing best practice in the assessment and treatment of at-risk youth and their families.  Generations currently provides group home treatment for boys with a history of sexual behavior problems (www.generationsgroup.com, 2024).

Designs have been displayed in museums, print and digital magazines, social media platforms, television, Times Square (NY), and billboards in London, Germany and Nigeria.

Senior Designer | Mental Health Advocate

Provided one-to-one instruction, implementing specific lesson plans under the direction of Learning Center leadership; Facilitated the use of the curriculum provided for Lindamood-Bell students; Interacted positively and professionally with students and staff to provide a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment. 

Lindamood-Bell has utilized evidence-based programs to help develop the skills necessary for reading and comprehension of students with learning disabilities — including those previously diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, or autism spectrum disorder.
