As a PMHNP, here are my list of responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate patients' emotional, psychological, and behavioral state.
Diagnose mental health disorders using established criteria outlined in diagnostic manuals.
Develop individualized treatment plans that may include psychotherapy, medication management, or a combination of both.
Provide various forms of psychotherapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or interpersonal therapy, depending on the patient's needs.
Prescribe psychotropic medications, following state regulations, to manage symptoms of mental health conditions.
Monitor patients' medication effectiveness and adjust dosages as needed.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, like physicians and therapists, to ensure coordinated care for patients. 
Educate patients and families about mental health conditions.
Advocate for mental health awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental illness.

PSYCHIATRICAL MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER

As a urology nurse practitioner, I played a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients with conditions affecting the urinary tract and reproductive systems. 

Diagnosis and Treatment:
Performed comprehensive assessments to diagnose urologic conditions like urinary tract infections (UTIs), bladder problems, kidney stones, prostate issues, and more.
Developed and implemented treatment plans, which could include medications, lifestyle modifications, or minor procedures.
Ordered and interpreted diagnostic tests  to gain further insights into a patient's condition.

Patient Care and Education:
Provided patient education on urologic conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
Counseled patients on managing chronic conditions.
Performed procedures like catheter placements or bladder instillations.
Collaboration and Management:
Collaborated with urologists and other healthcare professionals.
Advocated for patients care.

An initial visit with a provider involves a medical history review, an assessment of your specific symptoms and concerns, and possible diagnostic tests to evaluate a patient's health, identify issues, and develop and discuss treatment options.

A follow-up visit with a provider involves checking the progress of the patient's treatment plan, assessing any new symptoms or concerns, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed to ensure optimal health outcomes.
