ROBERTO POHLENZ-MCBEATH, MSN, PMHNP-BC
My name is Roberto Pohlenz-McBeath, I was born in Mexico City and came to the US when I was 22 y/o. I did my Nursing Bachelor degree in Puerto Rico and currently I'm an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years of nursing experience, including 2 years in the ER setting for a hospital in Long Island NY, with a high load of psychiatric emergencies.
During the last 4 years I have been able to focus specifically on mental health and I have been honored with helping many patients to navigate their various psychiatric conditions, ranging from anxiety and depression to ADHD.
Currently I consider my job, to provide personalized care to patients with psychiatric difficulties, including, initial assessment, diagnosis, the development of a comprehensive treatment plan, explaining medication options, and setting realistic expectations within my patients mental health journey.

My philosophy
Even when medications are not always the answer for all psychiatric conditions, and a referral to a therapist may be in order, very often the symptoms of my patients require the development of a care plan that covers their specific medication needs. This is often necessary to achieve the desired outcome and avoid any further harm. These medications will only be prescribed during the period of time that my patient and I consider necessary and other forms of treatment may be advised by agreement my patient.
