Also providing consultative psychiatric services to primary care settings. These services can take the form of telehealth or video consultation, education for providers, resource coordination, collaboration with providers, and in person or virtual consultation. I also include basic interventions such as sleep hygiene, healthy nutrition, parental support, increasing quality of parent-child interaction, and relaxation and coping strategies. Brief, solution-focused and supportive therapies are utilized as well.

Advance Practice Provider II - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Perform roles of charge nurse, and advanced RN 111. Utilize effective skills to ensure the provision of prompt, competent, and responsive mental health care to patients admitted to the inpatient psychiatric facility. Act as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team and assist team members in their professional development. Provide the first level of feedback for nurses and mental health technicians under supervision of charge nurse, help oversee admissions and discharge planning, assist with more typical nursing tasks, such as checking on patients and administering medicine. Convey critical patient updates to and collaborate with physicians to provide timely often urgent patient care. Regularly communicate status of unit operations with nurse manager. Regarding direct patient care: develop therapeutic interpersonal relationships with psychiatric patients. Collaborate with treatment team members to provide holistic care to short and long-term admission patients. 

Charge Nurse III (CN-III

Perform diagnostic patient evaluations, initiation and continuation of appropriate therapies (pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic) as well as monitoring and modifying pharmacotherapies in accordance with empirically supported recommended best practices. Complete and maintain documentation of clinical services and prescribe medications using HIPAA compliant electronic medical record and electronic prescribing systems. Facilitate and coordinate with other clinicians mental health treatment services. Develop, review, and implement patient treatment plans and when appropriate, provide referrals to other clinicians outside the practice. Collaborate with other clinicians to provide safe and high level patient care. Duties performed under supervision of collaborating physician.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Principal Owner

Perform roles of acting administrative officer on duty, charge nurse, and preceptor. Utilize effective leadership and managerial skills to ensure the provision of prompt, competent, and responsive mental health care to patients admitted to the inpatient psychiatric facility. Assist with shift schedules and staffing. Ensure that the quality of nursing care provided on the unit during assigned shift is carried out in an efficient, timely, and safe manner while coordinating care between the staff nurses and physicians or hospital administrators. Provide the first level of feedback for nurses and mental health technicians under supervision of charge nurse, help oversee admissions and discharge planning, assist with more typical nursing tasks, such as checking on patients and administering medicine. Convey critical patient updates to and collaborate with physicians, provide direct patient care, apply intervention techniques with patients in crisis, maintain accurate timely patient charts.

Charge Nurse III (CN-III)

An initial visit with a provider involves a medical history review, an assessment of your specific symptoms and concerns, and possible diagnostic tests to evaluate a patient's health, identify issues, and develop and discuss treatment options.

Initial Visit

A follow-up visit with a provider involves checking the progress of the patient's treatment plan, assessing any new symptoms or concerns, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Follow-up Visit

A prescription service appointment with a provider typically involves a brief review of his/her existing patient's medical history, confirming the need for the prescription service, and issuing a new prescription. It may also involve evaluating any side effects or concerns related to the medication and ensuring that the treatment plan is still appropriate for the patient's needs.
